Working Life

"adreline, please get me those files on FullCorp," colin called over his speaker phone.
"Mr. Haans on line three," adreline called back.

"ah yes Mr Haans, yes i have your proposal done up and when you are ready to come down it will be here waiting for you. no don't worry. i'll be here to explain everything to you. any problems, you just come find me. colin tan.. ok? thank you. bye," colin spoke to his half a million deal maker. he was not nervous at all, just crazily happy and confident.

"Mr Tan, Mdm Jong is here. she's in the meeting room waiting for you," adreline called.
"just tell her to hold a sec and bring those FullCorp files into the room too," colin said, adjusting his shirt and shayna's tie. he was beamingly happy.

"good afternoon Mrs. Jong! Have you read the proposal yet? i dare say that we have worked hard on this one. we know how much you deem perfection. This is one plan that we dare say that will work out for both our companies," colin said, after shaking her hand.
"yes i have gone through this about twice and i must say the details here are gorgeous. never have i seen such a good plan layput. you know, with your talent, you should be in your own business. why join your father?"
"thank you ma'am but it's family tradition. family comes first for me. so if you are happy with the plan, you can just sign at the bottom of the last page," colin said, pointing to her.
"oh yes, just a few minor changes to the plan on this page and that... and maybe lighten up on this. it's a little too much for an event like this. oh and please, do take this off. my husband can't stand this," Mrs. Jong commented.

for someone who just said it was good sure had a lot of things to edit now.
"no problem. i will get my secretary to do that and if you could sign please," colin suggested.

finally, after a while of persuasion, Mdm Jong signed the million dollar deal and Colin could never be happier.
"it was a pleasure doing business with you colin. you are a fine mind," mdm jong commented.
"the honor's all mine. have a safe journey back mdm jong," colin replied.

as mdm jong walked out of the company with her bodyguards and her fleet of jewels and diamonds, colin decided to head onto his office to take a breather.
"son," he heard someone call. colin turned and saw his father.
"dad. what brings you here?"
"well, my son just closed the almost impossible deal ever. you're a bright spark my boy," Mr. Tan commended.
"thanks dad. Mr Haans will be coming to sign that other deal. meanwhile i have to go pick up colby at the school for his checkup," colin said.
"sure thing. take the rest ofthe day off. i'll handle things around here for once," Mr. Tan said.
"if you say so dad," colin said as he turned to leave but then he turned back, "dad, tell mom to prepare to have a family dinner this weekend. i'm bringing someone."

"i'm sure your mother will be glad," his father commented.

Shayna walked into her office, in the midst of busy nurses and fast paced doctors. everyone was just busy doing their own thing. shayna was just happy to be who she was. her father came to file some documents and saw his precious daughter finally at work.
"hey papa. how's things?" shayna asked.
"busy. i have this new nurse to train. you know how it is," her father said.
"ok. i'll be going to tell the kids stories now. i'll see you later ok?" she said as she hugged her father.

shyana took out her princess costume and her big books. after dressing the part she had to select the story she wanted to tell the children. she didn't know which story to tell the children but since she was so much in love, she decided to tell them the story of cinderella, to bring them hope to fight their illness too.

"my, you look lovely," miss soong said.
"oh thank you. you know, just wanted to make it more special for the children," shayna said.
"that's good. you are a talent for this job. . soon enough, you can be the resident counsellor here and i can retire."
"oh miss soong, i can't take your job," shayna said.
"it's not my job. it's just a job. anyone can do it and i am sure you would do it well. go on i shall not keep you," miss soong said.

the kids started to gather at the play center. they were excited to hear a story and get out of their wards. some of the nurses were there to assist shayna in case of an emergency.
"hello kids. i'm princess shayna. today i will tell you a story about me, a prince and a glass slipper," shayna said.
"yay!!" all the children cheered.

as shayna told the story, she felt suh a sense of satisfaction from her job. she loved children and loved making them laugh. seeing so many children smiling made her heart warm. she was glad she found this job, and a new life.
