Questions & New Experiences

shayna stared out into the clear skies outside the window. she placed her hand on the screen. it felt cold. she imagined what would happen if she were outside of the aeroplane instead of being inside. timothy was reading newspapers: London Daily, The Sun and even USA Today. Shayan was just bored. she had flipped through the inflight entertainment catalog. Love Actually and Matrix Reloaded were being shown later on during the flight. right now they had some cheesy cartoons going on for the children. Shayna decided to snuggle into her seat and stare back out at the window.
"you alright?" timothy asked, noticing her listlessness.
"yup. just a little bored," shayna replied, looking at him with her bored-out look.
timothy smiled and kissed her, "bored still?" shayna was smiling as she nodded her head. timothy placed his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to him.
"read the papers with me then. they have interesting news in London," he said.
"but you know i can't pay attention to one article for a long time. that's why i avoid newspapers," shayna said.
"alright. you can snuggle up and rest. i'm sure you're gonna watch those movies later right?" timothy said as shayna nodded before leaning her head on his broad shoulders.

"good morning. what drinks would the both of you like to have?" a sweet stewardess asked Timothy and Shayna.
"any juices?" shayna asked as she lifted her head from his shoulder.
"yes we do have orange juice."
"alright. i'll have one. what about you?" shayna asked timothy.
"i'll have coffee please. two packets of sugar and one packet of milk."
"certainly." the stewardess poured shayna's juice and then timothy's coffee in front of them, "honeymooning?" she asked casually.
shayna wanted to refute but timothy just nodded to the stewardess as she placed the coffee and juice in front of them.
"you two make a lovely couple."

shayna frowned at timothy. "what was that about? you lied to that poor stewardess."
"she said we make a lovely couple," timothy changed the topic.
"it doesn't justify your lie," shayna grumbled playfully.
"oh come on dear..." timothy squeezed shayna before nudging her with his nose.
"get back to your newspapers," shayna said as she pushed him away.
"love you," he whispered into her ear, "i'll be back soon. little boys' room."
as timothy left. shayna looked back out the window. she was enjoying herself with timothy but somehow at the back of her head, colin was still a worry.
what is he doing right now? she wondered.

colin was physically at work but his heart and mind wasn't. he was just dazed and semi-conscious of his surroundings. shayna had left with that timothy. tyler and alyssa were obviously angry at him for being late and not seeing shayna off entirely. he hadn't told colby about shayna's departure yet. he knew if he did, there would be another person hating him too. basically his life was pretty screwed.

"colin?" his father called as he swung open the door. colin just watched his father walk in and said nothing. he didn't have the energy to entertain his father right now.
"you look terrible, son."
"so?" colin spat.
"you didn't tell her, did you?" Mr. Tan asked. colin just shook his head and plunked his head on the table. he was a failure... a complete failure.
"cheer up colin. it's not like she was the only girl for you. there would be other better ones in the future," Mr. Tan comforted him.
"dad. i love shayna."
"you better go home and rest. come in on monday morning looking better. how can you work looking like this?" Mr. Tan said.
"thanks dad. i owe you," colin said, picking up his stuff and walking out with his father.
"get some rest. don't let me worry about you. just try to forget her. you'll feel better," Mr. Tan said, giving his son a hug before colin disappeared down the lift.

"like your fish?" Timothy asked as he peered over shayna's lunch. she cut a piece of her fish and fed it to timothy, "hmmm nice. especially when you feed it to me." shayna rolled her eyes and laughed.
"want to try my beef?" timothy asked her.
"nah. i'm quite full up. i wonder what do the first class passengers eat. must be some good food," shayna said, popping another piece of fish into her mouth.
"i'm not sure either. have you ever travelled first class?" timothy asked. shayna just shook her head.
"have you?" she asked back. timothy laughed and said no.
"but you sure do have the rich kid look," shayna said.
"me? rich? if i were rich, we would be sitting in first class, don't you think?"
"some people conceal their wealth really well. are your parents rich? i know your father's some specialist doctor right?"
"not that i know of. my dad might be a good specialist but i don't think that makes us rich," timothy explained, "but i like the life that i am leading now. don't you like your life too?"

shayna thought about that question for a long time. she didn't know what to say. she might be satisfied with what she was having in front of her. but what she left behind was a whole different matter.

"dear? you're zoning out again," timothy said, noticing her dazed look.
"oh really? sorry." shayna said, before returning to finish her food.
"are you thinking about something? maybe you would like to share it with me. if i can help you, i will."
"thanks timmy. but i'm not thinking about anything serious. don't worry," she replied, touching his cheek gently.
"whatever it is you know that i will always love you."

shayna forced a smile. she just realised that timothy was always telling her how much he loved her but she never once said 'i love you' back to him. it would seem so wrong. she didn't know if he noticed that she didn't say it back whenever he said it. maybe he was just being nice old timmy and not picking up a fuss about it. but shayna still did feel bad. cos the only person she said 'i love you' to was colin tan.

"stop drinking already!" lila said, pushing the bottle away from colin. colin had been drinking since the time he came home from work and lila popped by his house to see how he was. since he had been avoiding her, she knew that today was going to be important because shayna left.

"don't bother about me!" colin shouted gruffily. he was almost drunk. he didn't shower at all and his shirt was al crumpled up and tucked out, his tie was flung somewhere and he only took out one shoe. he and lila was just sitting on the couch.
"colin, she's not worth it," lila said, trying to pull the bottle out of his grip.
"don't tell me whether she is worth it or not! she is My business. not YOURS!"
"colin, i care about you. she doesn't. she is with timothy now," lila said, sounding hurt.
colin snorted. "yea right. everyone hates me now. how can YOU care about me?"
"i do colin. i really do," lila said, leaning closer to him and started to kiss him on the cheek... then on his lips. colin just sat there, stunned. he didn't push her away. instead he found himself being sucked into the lust. he kissed her back and placed his hands on her face.

he felt lila's body edge closer to his and he leant on top of her, still kissing her. he was almost drunk right now and the alcohol was getting into his mind. for a moment he stopped kissing lila and looked into her face. the alcohol started to play tricks on his sight. instead of lila's face, he saw shayna's. she was there... smiling at him.
"kiss me again," lila said but colin saw it as shayna's face instead of lila. he smiled and pressed down on her and started to kiss her again.
