My Valentine

Shayna, Timothy and her parents walked down the streets of london as Timothy showed them the places of interest. Shayna felt happy having her family around her once again but she realised that she had been thinking about colin more. she wondered what he was doing now and she couldn't wait to see him later tonight. he called her just a few hours ago and arranging a special supper at a quiet cafe near the hotel.

"dear, you alright?" timothy asked, kissing her forehead.
shayna roused from her daydream, "yeah... yeah i'm fine. just thinking about schoolwork."
"that's the thing about you... always so hardworking and not knowing how to have fun," timothy laughed.
"yes but i'm here to study, timmy. it's not just to have fun," she answered.
"i know... that's another rason why i love you. you always keep me on track. if you weren't here, i'd wouldn't know what to do." shayna smiled at him before he ran back to assist shayna's parents as they checked out the street directory.
shayna just stood there and watched as they interacted. she knew her parents approved of timothy and she liked him... but why can't she just accept his wedding proposal? was it so hard to say 'yes'?

alyssa and tyler were having a quiet breakfast together at the hotel cafeteria. they were snuggling up at the hotel lounge and planning on what do to next. alyssa closed her eyes and lay her head on tyler's shoulder. tyler smiled and kissed her.
"for the first time i can spend the whole day with you," alyssa said, "it just sets our relationship in perspective, you know."
tyler nodded, "i guess i can be a little too busy with my work but you know that i'm working cos i want you to have a comfortable life. And when you get married have have children... you need not work at that Soup Junction anymore... stay home and be my beautiful wife."

he bent over and kissed her again. alyssa was just full of smiles as she snuggled back into his arms.
then all of a sudden, tyler stood up and said, "i know where we can go!" alyssa frowned but tyler had tugged on her hand and pulled her out of the hotel.
they took a cab down to the Big Ben. tyler didn't want to tell alyssa what he wanted to do but he promised a great time.

he took hold of alyssa's hand and stood underneath the big tower. They watched as the clock struck twelve noon. tyler turned to alyssa and kissed her passionately.
"so what's all this about?" alyssa asked.
"well, lyss honey," tyler said, holding up her hands and keeping them close to his heart, "you make me the happiest man on earth. from the first time i saw you at the club to spending every single day with you. You always have my day's first kisses every morning and the last ones in the night."
alyssa frowned, trying to make sense of what tyler was getting at.

"well, what i really want to say is that," tyler kneeled down in front of alyssa and as he was still holding her hands he saw her start to flush.
alyssa finally knew where this was heading to. he was going to say...
"lyss.. will you marry me?"
she looked into his sincere eyes and saw such happiness in her life. tyler did make her feel loved and she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.
"yes of course i will," she said.
tyler smiled and picked her up into a warm embrace. they were going to get married.

"i'm tired," Mr. fong said as they settled back into the car. shayna knew her father didn't have the best of staminas and h was easily worn out after a long day of travelling and sightseeing.
"maybe i should send you back to the hotel to rest," timothy suggested.
"oh you're such a dear. no wonder shayna fell in love with you," mrs fong said.
"mother..." shayna spat. she couldn't believe her mother was making such a big deal out of this.

just then, shayna's phone rang. it was alyssa calling.
"lyss, what's up?"
"I'M GETTING MARRIED!" she screamed over the phone.
"what? when did this happen?" shayna asked.
"tyler just asked me under the big ben. I should have told you the moment he asked but i know you're busy today but... i just can't contain the excitement!"
"hey it's alright. i'm happy for the both of you... congrats," shayna answered though she wasn't so sure if she felt truly happy.

"what happened?" mrs. fong asked.
"alyssa and tyler are getting married," shayna answered, trying to sound happy.
"well, that's good news isn't it?" timothy commented.
shayna didn't know what to say. mr. fong just smiled and changed the topic, "alright. why don't we just head back to the hotel and rest? did anyone forget that i said i was tired?"

as the car sped off, shayna stared out at the window. she was happy for her best friend but the word wedding and marriage wasn't the words she wanted to hear now.

colin couldn't wait to meet shayna. he had flowers delivered... chocolate bought and even a necklace for her. he wanted this night to be perfect. a night to remember for the both of them.
suddenly there was a knock on the door. as colin opened it, his best friend jumped on him, throwing him to the ground: the elation on tyler's face made colin from snapping at him.

"hey buddy! I'm getting married!"
"what? you?" colin asked.
"yeah me. and alyssa. ain't that great?" tyler asked.
"well, of course! both of you seem so happy together. it's natural to expect that both of you get hitched," colin said, getting up from that tackle.
"to think i'm getting married before you! ha!"
"yeah whatever... i don't think i'm marriage material yet," colin sighed as he sat down to admire the gift he bought for shayna.

"you going out with shayna later aye?" tyler asked, settling down beside colin.
colin nodded and turned to look at his best friend, "will i ever have the chance to walk down the aisle with shayna?"
"woah.. you're taking this a little too far don't you think?"
colin thought for a moment, "but i love her, ty. i love her so much."
