Decisions.

"hey shayna! wanna meet for lunch?" alyssa called.
"yeah i think we should i need to talk to you about something."
"alright. we can talk during lunch. it's been very long since we have talked, haven't you realised?" alyssa commented.
"i guess.. you want me to meet at your workplace?"
"i was thinking we could go to this japanese restaurant near the hospital, you know that very famous one at the shopping centre near the hospital?"
"yeah i think i know where you are getting at."
"alright. i'll see you there during lunchtime," alyssa said before they both put the phone down. shayna was glad that at least she got to talk to alyssa before she actually left for london. it was two hours to lunchtime and colin still hasn't replied her message. she wondered if he'd actually cared that she was leaving the country soon.

"shyana?"
"yes miss soong?"
"i need you to sign these few visa and student pass applications. when they are done, you can go book your air ticket," miss soong said, "maybe in about two to three days time. nowadays these applications are pretty fast."
shayna picked up her pen and signed the forms. "alright. when do i enrol?"
"you are already enrolled and you just confirmed your place this morning. their semester opens in two months time but i suggest you go early to adapt to the environment and check out the university too. it's very important that you know your way around there," miss soong suggested.
"so you're suggesting i leave as soon as i can?"
"yes. your leave has been approved. it starts next week but it's only three days to next week."
shayna gasped. she didn't know that it was going to be this fast. now she had to quickly say her goodbyes to everyone before she left... if only colin would answer her message.

colin toyed with his phone... shayna's message was still on the screen. he didn't see the message because he was sound asleep at that time. he wondered what she was deciding on and what was going on. he didn't dare to call her because he was afraid of facing her since he had kissed lila... or rather she kissed him. but it was beside the point. he thought he was far away from his old ways but instead he found himself no better than in the past. he was jumping from girl to girl again.

he didn't feel like going to work that day. all he wanted to do was lie in bed and try to forget whatever happened last night. he deleted shayna's message and then threw his phone at the corner of his bed and then went back for his third attempt to go to bed. but each time he closed his eyes, shayna's smile would just envelope his thoughts and he would startle awake again.

his phone started to ring and colin quickly jumped up to see who it was. god. lila. doesn't she have work? why is she still calling him? he didn't want to answer but something just made him press the answer button.
"colin? are you busy at work?" lila asked.
"err... no. i'm at home," he wanted to say yes but he just couldn't bring himself to lie.
"what happened? are you ill?"
"no. i just needed a break from work that's all. don't YOU have to work?" he asked.
"yes but i'm having my 5 minutes break right now so i thought of asking how you were," lila said sweetly.
"i'm alright. i just wanna rest."
"ok. you want to meet for dinner some time during the weekend?" she asked. colin didn't know how to reply. he did like her company but they shouldn't be seeing each other so soon...
he then started to try and reject, "i don't think..."
"... i have something very important to tell you," lila interrupted.
colin sighed, "ok. i'll meet you for a short lunch instead?" this better be good he thought to himself.
"great. it's a date," lila said.

"you look pale, shayna" alyssa commented as they sat down in the restaurant.
"i do? must be work," shayna brushed it off.
"are you sure? you haven't called or kept me updated with you for nearly two weeks and now you appear so pale. tell me what is really wrong," alyssa said, sipping on her green tea.
shayna sighed and leant back on the chair, "timothy leong is back from london and he is a doctor at my hospital. and... colin went out with a nurse yesterday without even telling me... and... i have been accepted in a scholarship to london to further my studies and... timothy is going with me..." she didn't know which way to tell alyssa so she just told it to her in short sentences.

alyssa stopped herself in time before she spat out the green tea.
"what?! all these happened and you never once thought of coming to me for help?!"
"sorry lyss. i was just too confused to think of any way out. i needed to settle them as soon as possible," shayna apologised.
"alright. firstly, timothy as in timothy leong as in the college hunk is a doctor and he is going to london with you?"
"yeah..."
"and why is he doing that?!"
"because his family is living in london and he wants to finish up his masters at the same time as me and he wants me to stay with his family cos i know no one in london," shayna explained.
"he likes you." alyssa said without question.
"what has that got to do with this?"
"please shayna. he has always liked you. since college. you just see him as Cecila's boyfriend and your study mate BUT he has always fancied you, shayna. why can't you see that? i'm not suprised he is back because of you," alyssa said.

"thanks for helping lyss," shyana spat. alyssa didn't make matters easier. maybe that was why she didn't want to go to her for help.
"alright. i'm sorry. and why is colin going out with a nurse at your hospital?"
"i'm not sure. but my colleagues say that she likes him."
"god. he's fooling around again. wait till i tell tyler about this," alyssa said, angrily, "i thought he had change but apparently he hasn't."
"i don't know, alyssa. i sent him a message to explain things to me but all that went around was rhetorical questions. no one said a thing. he asked about timothy and i asked about the nurse, lila."
"you went out with timothy?"
"yea..." shayna admitted hesitantly.
"what is wrong with both colin and you? one is going out with a nurse, another with a doctor. both of you are indeed confusing me," alyssa said, shaking her head.
"tell me about confusing," shayna replied.

"do you like timothy?" alyssa asked with a loud sigh.
"he's very sweet to me and always caring to my every detail and..."
"... i'm not asking you about his nice and sweet ways. i'm asking you if you liked him," alyssa interrupted.
"i think so... but i don't know," shayna replied.
"it's either yes or no."
"yes?"
"then do you like colin?"
"i... i... i think so..."
"yes or no?!" alyssa raised her voice.
"alright alright. yes?"
"you can only have one, shayna."
"i know."
