Mind flooding questions

colin came out of the testing room. tyler asked if everything was alright.
"yeah. they just need some time to analyse it," colin replied.
"how long?"
"about a week. i hope i would wait so long," colin said, tucking his hands into his pockets. he looked around the empty corridors. there were no reporters, no nosey parkers and no lila too.
"looking for lila?" tyler asked.
colin nodded.
"sorry buddy. she just left about five minutes ago. but she asked me to pass you this," tyler said and handed colin a piece of note.

colin opened it.
"i'm sorry."
that was all it read. however colin did not understand what she meant.
"come on. let's get you back. looking at these now would just make you waver in your decision," tyler said and ushered his best friend out the hospital doors.

"shayna!" the girls screamed and hugged her as she walked through the class doors.
"gawd we miss you," Kelly said.
"yeah! how was your break?" Lynnie asked.
Shayna frowned, "what's with you guys? so eager to know about my life?"
the girls started to giggle. shayna knew something was up.
"what is it? you know something and you aren't gonna tell me right?"
Kelly shook her head and settled shayna down. the rest of the girls surrounded them.

Kelly cleared her throat, "we heard... from your boyfriend's clique... that..."
"that...?" shayna asked.
".. that you're engaged right?" lynnie said. she couldn't contain the excitement that her good friend was about to be married to the richest kid in the university.
Shayna blushed, "word does travel fast. i really didn't wanna say it so soon..."
"... and leave us in the dark?" Kelly gasped, "but we're your friends!"

Shayna shook her head, "i don't mean it like this but i just wanted to tell you guys myself... you know..."
"well, congratulations girl! make sure you give us something to do on your big day. we love attending weddings!" Lynnie jumped excitedly.
Shayna opened up her file and get ready to start the class, "i don't think marriage is really in timothy and my agenda yet..."
"why not?" Kelly asked.
"cos.. we're still studying. i don't really want wedding plans to start flooding my mind before i graduate."
before any of the girls can retaliate, the lecturer walked into the room. that ended the whole conversation of weddings but shayna was still thinking about it in her mind. she did agree to marry timothy but she was still worried for colin.

does she really love timothy and is she marrying him for the right reasons? or was she trying to get colin out of the picture and into never never land?

colin was told by his father to stay low until everything was settled. in other words: he was house arrested by his own parents. at least tyler still came over after work to accompany him. that removed part of the boredom. colin knew tyler was trying his best to stay happy and cheerful in front of him. deep inside, colin knew what or rather who his buddy was thinking about: alyssa.

"hey bud. look what i brought!" tyler said one evening as he came through the door with a six-pack and pizza.
"great. i'm starving," colin said and helped with the food. "so how was work?"
tyler rolled his eyes, "gawd. i'm starting to feel like we're married... but no worries. i still know that i am straight."
colin laughed. he couldn't believe that tyler was so corny.

"anyway, everyone was asking me to talk about ur situation. i'm starting to feel like the most important person in the world!"
colin raised his eyebrows, "oh really? i guess that's really nothing new since i have reporters camping at my apartment carpark everyday." tyler peeked through the window and saw the reporters waiting patiently with their cameras, notepads and voice recorders ready for any action. colin was the priceless and most news worthy man in the world.
"gosh, they seem like lions waiting upon their prey. you're so dead if you ever step out of this place," tyler commented. colin shrugged as he chowed down on the pizza.
"i feel like a damn prisoner," colin commented, "i jusy wished everyone who ain't close to me just fuck off about the whole situation; you know? i mean, it doesn't mean that a rich and powerful man deserves such scrutiny just because he accidentally made someone pregnant!"

"well, sometimes we just have to live with the consequences that our decisions bring us. it's difficult but that is what friends are for," tyler commented.
colin shrugged, "i don't really want to bother about it any more. let's talk about something else."
"like?"
"alyssa?"
tyler rolled his eyes, "oh please don't."
"why not?"
"because... i'm over her..." tyler answered half heartedly.
"liar bastard." colin teased.
"what do you want me to say man? it's over," tyler sighed, "really."
colin could see that tyler still had so much feelings for alyssa. it was the first girl in their entire friendship that would want to make tyler think of getting married and settling down. alyssa did change tyler's life so much that somehow he did not seem like the wild, flirty cassanova he knew before.

"you know... you changed a whole lot after meeting alyssa," colin said.
tyler frowned, "whatever crap are you talking about? i think this whole reporter thingy is getting to you. now i know how it feels being intimidated."
"i'm really sorry for coming to you for help at the wrong time," colin apologised.
tyler shrugged, "it's ok. i wasn't ready for commitment at such a high level either. maybe this break up is good. for both me and alyssa."
"whatever it is... you still have to explain things to her."
tyler nodded, "i know."

the girls were busy flooding shayna with wedding ideas and all the things celebrities do on their weddings. shayna forced a smile. she wasn't really interested to know but she felt so trapped that she could not say anything else but smile.
"you know how all the stars getting married in london... they wanna get married like the royal family. princess diana's wedding was so awesome... i wonder how prince william is going to get married," Kelly sighed and gazed dreamily into the sky. she had been infactuated with prince william ever since she had to write an essay on the royal family.
"no... you have to see vera wang's bridal gowns... they are so grand and amazingly dreamy! shayna should get a gown from there," Lynnie suggested.
"..no! make it three! she has the cocktail party to attend too. she'll need more than just the main gown!" Kelly said.

Shayna just watched the girls buzz around for the supposed wedding that she was going to have. that made her take a look at the ring she was wearing on her finger. that beautiful ring that timothy placed on her finger when she agreed to be his wife... his life partner... forever.

that made her feel a rush down her spine. for a moment she felt as though she missed having colin around. the fun-loving, spontaneous and funny man she was with. she had traded that for simple, romantic and stable timothy.

was it a right decision? or was she just being plain boring?
