Friends Are Always There...

colin rang the doorbell. he hoped someone was home and that he would not be just sent back to megan. well, it was his last hope or he would sleep on the streets.

"hey! whassup with you? and that bag?" tyler asked.
"i left megan. so i needed to get some air," colin said.
"well, come in then. this bachelor's pad can hold another bachelor," tyler joked.

tyler passed colin a glass of rum and some chips. well, so much for a dinner. colin almost forgotten then bachelors always had alcohol as drinks and tidbits for staple food.
"you know you need better food than this," colin said.
"i know. just that alyssa and i just started to i don't really expect her to come cook for me," tyler joked.
"boy, do you treat your women like your maids."

"so how did you do it?" tyler asked and colin just told him how he dumped megan when doing his laundry.
"that's my man. multi-tasking even during underwear washing," tyler joked.
"well, i don't think she took it well. she just keeps crying and it kinda irritates me," colin commented, gulping the rum down.
"hey, you've been misleading her for nearly two years, you asshole," tyler chided
"come on! it's not like i have slept with her just because... i tried for two bloody years," colin retorted.
"yes and you are dumping megan for another girl, just liek you have dumped the previous girl for megan... remember? don't tell me you have forgotten. see the pattern. you'd always be a flirt!" tyler said, passing him another drink, this time jim beam.
colin throught about it for a while. it was true. he had been dumping his girlfriends for another too fast too soon. he wanted to prove to everyone that shayna was gonna be his last girlfriend and he was gonna be with her... forever.
"it's not true. i didn't dump megan for another," colin said, "i'm not gonna allow it."
"then what are you gonna do with shayna? she's not the dumpable kind you know. and i'm dating her best friend, so don't you screw things up for me alright!" tler warned.
"i'm just gonna tell her to put our relationship on hold... until everything's settled. we ca still be friends, you know... know each other," colin said, beamingly happy.
"yeah talk is easy, doing is not. but we'll see how you hold on," tyler joked. as they toasted their jim beam.

meanwhile shayna was in her room not knowing wether she should call colin or just be on her own tonight. she didn't want ot be too dependent on colin just yet, she doesn't even know if he had dumped megan yet. as she was contemplating, her phone rang.
"colin?" shayna called out.
"woah. his name now? have you forgotten about mine?" alyssa laughed.
"oh sorry alyssa. it was just that..." shayna tried to explain.
"it's alright. i was just wondering how you're keeping up. i heard you kinda left colin until he dumps megan," alyssa said.
"tyler told you that right?" shayna sighed, "sometimes best friend's dating each other best friend's was not really a very good idea.
"yeah. sorry but you know i'm datig colin's best friend, ya? but to be YOUR best friend, i'm saying to you: don't go into a relationship with colin immediately when he dumps megan," alyssa warned.
"why not?"
"don't you think he'd be just jumping from one girlfriend to another? you need security not a leap frog," alyssa commented. shayna nodded, she knew what alyssa was getting at.
"maybe we should just be friends for the moment. get to know each other better," shyana said.
"yeah. just think about it. i'm not forcing the idea on you but just think about it and no matter what decision you make, i'll always support you," alyssa said.
"thanks. i will. goodnight lyss," shayna said.

maybe that was what shayna and colin needed. some time to know each other better.
