Trouble Brewing

After sending shayna's parents back to the hotel, timothy and shayna slowly walked back home. she tucked her arm around his and cuddled in with him. timothy smiled and nuzzled her.
"so do i make a good son-in-law?" timothy asked.
shayna tilted her head up to look at timothy. she smiled, "i guess you do. just that you sometimes try too hard."
"whatever do you mean?" timothy asked, puzzled.
shayna tiptoed and kissed her fiance, "you are perfect the way you are. you don't need to please my parents. they already love you." timothy started to beam like a cheshire cat. shayna laughed at his sweetness. something that colin would never have...

"so where do you want to have the wedding? london or back home?" timothy asked as they trudged along.
shayna snorted a laugh, "wow, you're sure pushing this wedding thing fast."
timothy cuddled her in by putting his arm around her, "of course. i can't wait to have you as my wife."
shayna pushed him away, "stop being so mushy. i can't stand it... it's giving me goosebumps."
timothy pulled her closer and teased her, "wifey, wifey, wifey..."

shayna let out bouts of giggles and tried to escape. but she enjoyed his spontanity, his humor and his love.
"alright... enough of play. tell me where does my darling wife want her wedding to be held at," timothy asked.
shayna thought for a while and replied, "i guess i would prefer back home. that is where everyone is and you can fly your parents back home to see how things have changed. i think tammy would like to see what her homeland looks like too."
timothy nodded and they soon went into a full blown discussion on the wedding and how they want it to be. suddenly, shayna found herself in the next step of her life. she found that she liked the idea of settling down with a stable family and husband. maybe this wedding was the solution to everything. then colin would have no place in her life and everything would be about timothy and her.

once tyler and colin reached the airport, they noticed hoards of reporters and news vans waiting for their arrival.
"oh shit," colin said, slamming his fists at the side of the plane.
"calm down colin. i'm sure we would have a way of getting you to safety without talking to the press," tyler said.
"but what can we do? we're on a commercial flight and safety is in the car my father has prepared for me!"

the two men started to panic. then tyler decided to give a call to colin's lawyer and he suggested that they make their way through the press calmly without uttering a word. then just head into the car, looking calm. the press would then have nothing to report about.
"i guess that is the best thing we can do now," tyler agreed. colin didn't like the idea of dodging the press because he wanted the truth to be out as soon as possible.

after everyone got down the plane, tyler and colin took in a deep breath and walked through the sea of reporters. every single one of them started to shove their microphones and boom mics in their faces but colin and tyler both said nothing. tyler tried his best to shield his friend from all the camera attention. they finally managed to get to the car safely and as the driver drove off, colin turned to see all of the reporters chasing by foot.

"i'm so glad you're with me ty. i wouldn't know what to do without you," colin said gratefully.
tyler took in a sigh of relief, "you don't know how much you owe me man..."
the driver looked up and told them that colin's father was awaiting at the lawyer's office for the both of them.
colin rolled his eyes, "great. i just got through round one and round two is just around the corner."
"isn't that all in the life of being Mr. Colin Tan?" tyler said cheekily.

colin growled, "tyler... don't think i owe you my life means i can stand your corny jokes at this point in time."
tyler laughed, "alright. i was just trying to lighten up the mood here."
"not working buddy. not working," colin said.

as they pulled up at the lawyer's office, there were security there to usher them up to the room. again, the reporters were armed and ready to catch any word that colin says as he walks past them. colin never felt to scrutinised before and this is killing him... not to mention being away from shayna and allowing her to get married to the scum of the earth that he had grown to detest. lila better had a good reason for putting him through such torture.

shayna flicked on the television back in her room to check up on the news back home about colin. they reported that colin has arrived back home and is now in the lwayer's office discussing about the whole case. they also assume that it was going to be a very tight security meeting and there has been no comments from either colin or his father at the moment. meanwhile, there were reports of lila seeking out megan and her team of lawyers to help her fight the case. shayna frowned. it was too coincidental for lila to seek out megan. there was something fishy there but shayna just couldn't pin point it. as she watched colin dashing through the lines of reporters wanting a word with him, she felt her heart wrench again and tears flooding her eyes.

just then, there was a soft knock at the door. it was tammy.
"hey come on in," shayna said, wiping her tears.
"shay, what's up? why are you crying?" tammy asked as she propped herself up on the bed beside shayna.
"tammy, i don't really wanna talk about this..." shayna said.
"... oh come on shay. we're almost like sisters now. you know you can tell me anything. i promise i would not say a peek to my brother!" tammy interrupted.
"well... i don't know tammy. i haven't told anyone about this other than my parents and my best friend, alyssa," shayna said.
tammy started to throw her usual rich girl tantrums, "shay! you're not being fair! i'm almost your best friend right here in london. come on..."

shayna calmed her down and then agreed to tell her about colin and her past with him. she started to cry when she related the past memories of her and colin together. she admitted that she enjoyed her time with colin, so much that it hurts to just leave him like this for timothy.
"if i were you, i would have stayed with colin," tammy said, "i don't mean to be rude and all but i know my brother. he's just too boring and stable. i like a guy with adventure."
shayna forced a smile, "i guess i did like his wild side. maybe that was his attractive side. but i guess now my life is much more stable with timothy around and i feel that everything is going smoothly. colin was just a wild phase for me. it's time to grow up."

tammy started to curl up on shayna's bed and then sigh. "shay, sometimes i wonder what made youu fall in love with my brother."
shayna tilted her head in question, "that's a really weird question."
"well, i know timothy's really great in your eyes and all but i guess i have to warn you that he can be a very determined person," tammy explained.
"isn't being determined a good trait?"
tammy shook her head, "when timothy wants something; he would do all means and ways to get it. it doesn't necesarily be a good thing when some of his means are quite despicable."
"that's a very extreme word you are using on your own brother," shayna commented.

tammy shrugged, "i can't say much; maybe because i'm younger. but just be careful."
as tammy left the room, shayna pondered a while over what tammy said. however, when the news came on about colin again, shayna's attention diverted back to her old love... who was really in big trouble.
